The Aladdin Factor
I’m an avid reader, and whenever I come across a particularly great read, I love to share it with the people in my life. So, my holiday present to you is a recommendation to gift yourself with a copy of “The Aladdin Factor” by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen.
The Aladdin Factor (yes it does involve a genie and a lamp, at the beginning) pinpoints the major stumbling blocks to asking – and teaches simple techniques to overcome them. The book is sprinkled throughout with inspirational stories about people who have succeeded by asking for what they want. These people are called Masters of the Lamp
Masters of the Lamp (MOL) have the following Seven Characteristics. I’m committed to becoming an MOL and I wish the same for you:
They know what they want
The masters of the lamp know what they want. They are clear about their purpose, their vision and their goals, and they are able to communicate them to others.
They believe they are worthy of receiving it
In order to receive the gifts of life you must believe you are worthy of receiving them.
They believe they can get it
All Masters of the Lamp ask with certainty – knowing that they will receive what they ask for. Some call it faith, others call it self-confidence. In either case, it is the belief that this is possible that propels them into action.
They are passionate about it
Masters of the Lamp are able to hold their vision – knowing that what they are doing is important. In doing so, they attract others to support them on their journey.
They take action in the face of fear
All Masters of the Lamp act upon their inner and outer guidance. It is not that they do not have fears like the rest of us; they all do. What sets them apart is that they take action in the face of their fears.
They learn from their experience
Masters of the Lamp know that they don’t get everything right the first time they do it – including asking for what they want. They simply learn from their experience and apply what they have learned the next time.
They are persistent
All Masters of the Lamp know that commitment and persistent action are the keys to making anything happen.
